About Us
Rachel, also known as ‘Cridders’ or ‘Crids’ (hence the name Crids Kids!) to her former pupils, is a qualified science teacher with a first class degree in Chemistry and she was awarded the AE Clarence Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence.
With a wealth of science and educational experience of 15 years Rachel started her career as a university laboratory technician before studying to become a secondary school science teacher, specialising in Chemistry. Whilst teaching Rachel also worked as a private science tutor, GCSE examiner and science club leader. Rachel particularly enjoys planning and creating wow moments in the classroom with experiments and demonstrations. A real highlight was also planning and taking students on a school trip to Iceland! Rachel moved onto an Acting Head of Chemistry role where she focused on curriculum development, before taking a break from teaching to have her first child.
Rachel is now a mum of 2 and she discovered a passion for sensory play and early years through attending different classes with her children. Rachel has a love of learning and Early Years is where so much learning happens! This led her on a path to study and work within early years for the past 6 years, running parent and baby/toddler sensory classes and also being a room leader in a nursery, where she loved to do colourful and rainbow science experiments with the children.
Rachel enjoys spending time in nature, being around animals and potion making with her 2 girls. Rachel also spends her time volunteering, she is a governor at a local primary school and she is also a STEM Ambassador.
Combining her passions, we now have wonderful and exciting sensory and science classes available for 0-11 year olds as Rachel supports and enriches your little one’s education and development; whether that’s Early years, KS1 or KS2. With exciting experiments, messy sensory play and plenty of bubbles, Rachel looks forward to welcoming you to a class soon!

Rachel has an enhanced DBS check, is fully insured, paediatric first aid trained and completes annual safeguarding training. Rachel is also a member of the ASE (The Association for Science Education) and has a level 3 in Makaton, level 2 in Food Safety and Hygiene and Level 2 in Allergy Awareness.
